All-New 2018 Ford F-150 Has So Many Class-Exclusives & Best-in-Class Specs

Three years after introducing high-strength aluminum alloy to the truck segment, the latest Ford F-150 redesign is bringing even more segment-first innovations and best-in-class capability. What can Lemoyne drivers expect from the 2018 F-150?

Best-in-Class Tow Rating & Payload

The 2018 F-150 can tow trailers up to 13,200 pounds, making it the most capable pickup in its class. It achieves this feat with its available 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, delivering more torque than any competing engine—including higher-displacement V8 engines and diesels.

The second-generation 5.0-liter V8 engine option is lighter and more powerful, allowing for a best-in-class payload rating of 3,270 pounds.

Best-in-Class Fuel Economy

Just because you drive a full-size truck doesn't mean you love paying for gas. The new 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine option delivers a potent 400 pound-feet of torque, while only burning through a sedan's share of fuel—an EPA-estimated 20 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, 22 mpg combined.

Class-Exclusive Technology & Safety

New to the 2018 Ford F-150 is Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection, making it the only truck in its class with the ability to detect and automatically brake for pedestrians in the road. It will also be the first with adaptive cruise control with the ability to stop and go in heavy traffic.
